These Monsooned Malabar coffee beans are the highest grade (AA) Arabica coffee from India and have a distinctive spicy flavour. This coffee is usually roasted a little darker to intensify the flavours.

The coffee beans are processed in a very unique way.

The process starts with a bean that has been dry-processed in the normal way. It is then allowed to mature by exposing it to the moisture-laden monsoon winds that occur in the late summer.

As a result the raw coffee bean swells to double its original size and turns to a golden colour.

Following the monsoon season, the beans are transferred to a drier region where they lose some of their moisture before being bagged, graded and shipped out.

This process results in the distinctive aroma and flavour with much lower acidity due to the monsooning process.

Monsooned Malabar is graded by size and quality, with AA grade being the highest.

Flavours: Low acidity, heavy full body with strong earthy and spicy notes and aromas of dark chocolate and Cinnamon.

Available in 200g or 450g resealable bags.

Great Dark Roast

Overall, the descriptions that this site gives each of their coffees is really accurate (if I'm going off of the four that I've tried so far). This is my favorite of the four. It's quite a dark roast, so the dominant taste is the roast, not the coffee. It produces tons of crema. Once I got the dose right, this made a super nice balanced shot of espresso with a rich full body, just like it says. I think a super small amount of salt in the shot really complemented it well if you're into that. Note that you'll definitely want to use some water drops or spray when grinding though, because this is an extremely static prone coffee.

Fabulous coffee

It’s a long time since I’d had this coffee ( years) but I remembered liking it at the time so as soon as I saw it was in, I got a small amount to try. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Lots of body, smooth taste and no lingering acidity. My favourite so far. About to order more before it runs out.

I liked it

I’m new to a bean to cup machine so I’m trying out different beans to choose a favourite. I think this one will be up there at the top of the list

Great taste

Lovely beans makes a fantastic coffee best to leave sitting in airtight container for a week before using
I tried a coffee on day 1 off delivery but it was too fresh and all crema 100% better a week later 👍
