Brazil Fazenda Bela Vista Medium Roast
Flavours: Fruit and citrus with hints of honey and plum.
This Brazilian coffee bean comes from the Fazenda Bela Vista estate in the Divinolandia municipality in the state of Sao Paulo, which is managed by Joao Cecimiro Marques Dos Santos who bought the farm in 2000 and produced their first harvest in 2002.
The farm works closely as a partner with the Bob-o-link project managed by Silvia Baretto and her husband Marcos Croce from the Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza (FAF) created in 1850 by the Baretto family. The project aims to increase the native bird population in the area (the Bob-o-link is an indigenous bird of the region) by planting trees to increase shade and attract wildlife. Since 2000, the farm have planted over 12,000 trees and aim to plant around 800 - 1,000 trees per year and have over 300 birdhouses spread around the estate.
The coffee plantation covers around 24.6 hectares and the owners of the farm perform their own cupping, selecting only the best beans for export. This particular micro-lot consists of only the yellow variety of coffee bean and has a cupping profile score of 87. The coffee beans are natural processed, having been sun-dried on raised African beds.
