Honduras SHG Marcala Medium Roast
The first speciality coffee offering from our new partnership with Grass Roots Coffee are these exceptionally smooth washed coffee beans from Marcala in Honduras.
This producer is a starting enterprise in the area of Chinacla, Marcala who are exporting coffee from the area and investing back into the valley with new processing facilities owned by the farmers themselves. This helps them improve the cost efficiency of production, enabling them to increase the quality of the coffee. The director of the operation is Edgar, who grew up on the coffee farm sharing a single room with his many siblings. Along with his sister they have developed the business and are now extending it to include other farms from across the valley who want to join the enterprise.
The coffee beans are grown using organic methods at higher altitudes meaning the coffee bean takes longer to mature and develop its flavour.
