About this Ugandan coffee bean

These fine speciality 100% washed Arabica organic coffee beans are sourced from across the Rwenzori Mountains in Western Uganda. Also known as the 'Mountains of the Moon’, these mountain ranges are found on the western fringes of the famous East African Rift Valley straddled along the equator on the South Western tip of Uganda and stretching 120 kilometres long and 65 kilometres wide between Lakes Albert and Lake George.

The coffee is grown along the slopes of these mountain ranges that provide ideal growing conditions for cultivating some of the world’s best coffee. The Arabica’s grown here have been produced by close to 100,000 smallholder farmers drawn from across the length and breadth of the mountain ranges for more than a century now.

Flavour profile

Delightful fragrance of Chocolate & Coffee Blossom, medium/high acidity with a mild body and a fruity smooth finish.

This high quality coffee bean has a SCAA cupping score of 84+.

This Ugandan coffee is perfect for a filter or cafetiere brewing method due to the high acidity and fruity taste.

About Uganda

Coffee makes up 95% of Uganda’s yearly national exports, providing a livelihood for an estimated 20% of the population.

Arabica was introduced to Uganda from Ethiopia around 1900, with further varietals introduced throughout the following century from neighbouring Kenya, amongst other origins. Most Arabica is processed with the use of hand pulpers but attempts are under way to upgrade processing through the introduction of eco-friendly integrated pulping systems, that simultaneously remove both pulp and mucilage whilst using only small amounts of water, making them particularly suitable for use by smallholders. Uganda also produces wet-processed Arabica, with virtually all grown by villagers on small plots. Coffees marketed as ‘Wugar’ (Washed Uganda Arabica) or ‘Drugar’ (Dry Uganda Arabica) are grown on mountains bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo, along Uganda’s western border.

Available in 200g or 450g resealable packs.

Pleasant easy drinking coffee

Good fresh product, purchased pre-ground this time for use on holiday.

This is a fairly light and easy to drink coffee, I’d be inclined to try dark roast if purchasing it again - for deeper favour..

My preference of the coffees I have tried so far is still the AurorA

Unbeatable

I absolutely love P&P; it gives me the ability to try such a wide variety of beans from around the world, and removes all of the stress obtaining them for myself! Delivered to my door on a weekly basis for a price of less than two coffee’s out. The note accompanying your beans detailing their origin, flavour profile and giving information on their farmers is a really nice touch also.
Keep up the good work and I’ll keep buying the coffee!

Very tasty coffee! I've not had one bean from this company that I haven't enjoyed!

King of the Monsters

Never mind Gonzilla- this is Godzilla, king of the coffees..an amazing dark roast...try it

This is the stuff!

Guatemalan coffee is my all time favourite so my review is highly biased, that being said, these beans are just outstanding, well done p&p

Great!

First Mexican coffee I’ve had, wasn’t expecting it to be as smooth as this, very nice aftertaste.
