Our single origin Sumatra Lintong coffee is a hidden gem from the volcanic highlands surrounding the beautiful Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Indonesia. This exquisite coffee is more than just a morning ritual; it's a journey to one of the world's most unique coffee-producing regions.
Sumatra coffee beans are harvested primarily in the Lintong area, which is situated in the northwest part of Sumatra. This region is named after the district it lies in, Lintongnihuta. Its location is uniquely Southwest of Lake Toba, acclaimed as one of the deepest inland lakes globally. The geography is especially conducive to the cultivation of Arabica coffee.
The district’s location on a high plateau presents the ideal altitude for growing specialty coffee varieties. The elevated climate and rich soil conditions combine to create a prime environment for Arabica coffee plants to thrive, contributing to the distinct flavour profile Sumatra coffee is renowned for.
The Lintong coffee beans are nurtured at elevations ranging from 800 to 1,500 meters, where the rich, volcanic soil and tropical climate create the perfect conditions for Arabica coffee trees to thrive. These beans are handpicked with utmost care, ensuring only the highest quality makes it into your cup.
What sets the Sumatra Lintong coffee apart is its traditional processing method. After harvesting, the beans undergo a semi-washed (or wet-hulled) process, a technique unique to Indonesia. This involves removing the outer skin of the cherry immediately after picking, then allowing the beans to partially dry with the mucilage still on. Once the beans reach the ideal moisture content, the remaining layers are removed. This meticulous process contributes to the coffee's distinctive body and flavour profile.

I could easily see this becoming my daily coffee. The roast is just dark enough to feel vaguely Neapolitan in taste. But not bitter.

Really liked this, it's got an interesting subtle slightly fruity flavour. Will definitely be ordering some more. think I prefer it to the Ipanema, but it's a close call.
I wanted to try this coffee because it was new. It’s quite full bodied and dark. It has a nice flavour but just a little too dark for me My favourite still remains the Ipanema

I’ve purchased coffee beans from many roasters but never had a coffee so far so crema rich. I’m not one for being able to distinguish individual flavour notes but I do love the taste of this bean.
I make filter coffee with these beans. This coffee is smooth, complex tasting , and definitely there are notes of dark chocolate. It is a really superior product.

A super rounded smooth coffee. Very much a good starter for the day.
The quality and consistency is there again. Good coffee roasting guys.
It’s nice and spicy and rather bitter chocolate forward but overall a little too strong for my taste. Makes a decent milk based drink but didn’t enjoy it as much in an americano. I much prefer the Indian or the Peruvian from here and wouldn’t go back to this Sumatra again.
So glad I latched on to P&P when you first started. Coffee and service always superb so thank you.

I tried this one after being tempted by it's description here. I have to say, I wasn't disappointed and will probably add it to my list of go-to coffee. The smell when freshly ground is particularly good!
