Sumatra Menagold Medium/Dark Roast
Sumatra Menagold Medium/Dark Roast
Sumatra Menagold Coffee is sourced from the lush, coffee-producing regions of Hutapaung and Ria Ria in North Sumatra’s Dolok Sanggul district. This premium Sumatra Mandheling Coffee is crafted through a close partnership between local smallholder farmers and PT Musfaha Niaga Mandiri, ensuring the highest quality in every bean.
Each step of the process, from the farm to the roaster, is carefully monitored. Only ripe, red cherries are handpicked and sorted, then wet-hulled and dried at the mill before being sent to Medan for final processing. Over 323 farmers work exclusively with PT Musfaha Niaga Mandiri, focusing on producing high-end Sumatra Arabica beans known for their distinctive “wild” taste and unique greenish-blue color.
The name "Menagold" represents both the coffee’s origins and its exceptional quality: “Mena” stands for “Medan-Aceh,” paying tribute to the birthplace of this renowned coffee, while “Gold” emphasizes the premium, exotic quality Menagold brings to each cup.
Tasting Notes: Expect a rich, exotic profile with the earthy, full-bodied flavours that make Sumatra Mandheling Coffee so prized. Ideal for coffee lovers seeking a truly unique, high-quality experience.

Lovely Full Bodied Coffee. To me tastes a little almondy... But that might be a personal thing..dunno. But yeah, Really Love this one and I Know my Coffee!
I would agree with the tasting notes. An absolute finish of dark chocolate, but very reminiscent of our favourite chocolatier in Bruges. Combined with the harmonising spice undertones, makes for an excellent winter's evening cup of coffee.
A really nice coffee very similar to the Lintong. Undecided as to which of the two we prefer
I use a burr grinder and this bean makes excellent coffee with chocolate notes . It is very good but the Sumatra Lintong has slightly more complexity, so I give this 4 stars 🌟
