How to Brew: The Perfect Colombia Supremo Cafetière
The heavy body and chocolatey profile of our Colombia Supremo make it the ideal candidate for an immersion brew. Follow this simple guide for a rich, sediment-free cup:
- The Ratio: Use 60g of coffee per 1 litre of water (or roughly 15g per 250ml cup).
- The Grind: Ensure your beans are ground Coarse (resembling sea salt). This prevents over-extraction and bitterness.
- The Water: Use water just off the boil (94°C). Pour half the water over the grounds and let it "bloom" for 30 seconds to release CO2.
- The Steep: Pour the remaining water, place the lid on (don't plunge yet!), and wait 4 minutes.
- The Plunge: Gently press the filter down. If you feel too much resistance, your grind is likely too fine.
- The Serve: Pour immediately into your favourite mug to stop the extraction process and enjoy those deep caramel notes.
