India Monsoon Malabar Medium/Dark Roast
India Monsoon Malabar Medium/Dark Roast
These Indian Monsoon Malabar coffee beans are the highest grade (AA) Arabica coffee from India and have a distinctive spicy flavour.
This monsoon coffee is usually roasted a little darker to intensify the flavours.
The coffee beans are processed in a very unique way.
The process starts with a bean that has been dry-processed in the normal way. It is then allowed to mature by exposing it to the moisture-laden monsoon winds that occur in the late summer.
As a result the raw bean swells to double its original size and turns to a golden colour.
Following the monsoon season, the coffee beans are transferred to a drier region where they lose some of their moisture before being bagged, graded and shipped out.
This process results in the distinctive aroma and flavour with much lower acidity due to the monsooning process.
Monsoon Malabar is graded by size and quality, with AA grade being the highest.
Flavours: Low acidity, full body with strong earthy and spicy notes and aromas of dark chocolate and Cinnamon. This coffee, although darker roasted, appears quite light in colour and delivers a very smooth cup with very little acidity.
Available in 200g, 450g or 1kg resealable and recyclable bags.

Great coffee, well presented, easy to place order. Definitely order again
The green coffee beans were excellent once I had roasted them, Especially enjoy the monsoon malabar variety and the green ones allow me to be able to do a darker roast
Also the grand tour of coffee subscription sends a different coffee each month, now on the 5th month and not yet had one variety i have not liked
A great tasting coffee and perfect for my coffee machine producing an excellent expresso also a fair price.
It’s really good, one of the best I’ve had….and local. Support local

Overall, the descriptions that this site gives each of their coffees is really accurate (if I'm going off of the four that I've tried so far). This is my favorite of the four. It's quite a dark roast, so the dominant taste is the roast, not the coffee. It produces tons of crema. Once I got the dose right, this made a super nice balanced shot of espresso with a rich full body, just like it says. I think a super small amount of salt in the shot really complemented it well if you're into that. Note that you'll definitely want to use some water drops or spray when grinding though, because this is an extremely static prone coffee.
Lovely beans makes a fantastic coffee best to leave sitting in airtight container for a week before using
I tried a coffee on day 1 off delivery but it was too fresh and all crema 100% better a week later 👍
Great coffee, well presented, easy to place order. Definitely order again
Very nice, tasty, fresh roasted beans. Took too long to arrive for me though at 5 days after ordering. Also expensive when you include postage
Think this is probably good coffee but i dont think i got the brew right

Little lacking in flavour
A really good dark roast coffee , loving it and will definitely be ordering more
Got this as a gift for my partner and he was so happy with the product, very tasty
Second time ordering this coffee last time really good and flavoursome
Firm favourite in our house.
Great coffee, freshly roasted, reliable service. I order a couple of Kg every few weeks. I'm very satisfied.
Great tasting, fresh beans. Really well packaged to.
Monsoon Malabar is a classic dark roast coffee. I have used it in the past to make filter coffee. Now that I use a burr grinder on all coffee beans I decided to try it again; the result was the same. It makes an excellent cup of coffee but lacks the complexity and range of tastes of dark roasted Columbian or Sumatran.
Get it while you can, this is my favourite coffee.
Delicious every time!
Delicious
A really nice, smooth blend. Lots of flavour without bitterness
Delicious beans, smooth, chocolate notes my favourite
Ok but not as good as I would like but think it’s just personal taste .
Ok as far as it goes but doesn’t stand out
Lots of lovely flavour and the strength is a very good balance. Can highly recommend
I even love opening the bag...the smell goes straight to my ❤️
Pebble & Pine are a great company to deal with.
Super easy to set up my monthly subscription, which I think is great value.
My choice of bean at the moment is the Monsoon Malabar, which is absolutely delicious.
If you’re thinking about joining P&P, do it you won’t be disappointed.
This was a Christmas gift for my sister in law and having tried it out on Boxing Day, a great tasting coffee.
To be given as gift so not opened yet!
…this roast is exceptional.
I have had this coffee from another supplier, I do not like the supplier and ordered the same coffee from Pebble & Pine. The flavour was there but it was not quite as strong, I think my original beans were dark roasted. I personally prefer my coffee a bit stronger flavoured.
There are 2 of us in our house. Me, the self professed coffee expert, and hubby who enjoys what I give him!! (Joke!!). However, we found this coffee to be super acidic. Hubby really struggles to enjoy it, I can tolerate it! It is definitely dark! We travel to India a lot so wanted to love these beans! It is definitely a roast that gives itself to a milk partner!
A note on Pebble & Pine, this was our 1st order with them, I found them when randomly searching for a new roaster. The choice was good, prices reasonable, not the cheapest and a little more than our current supplier. But, I wanted to try someone new. Delivery was very quick which was very welcome. We'll definitely use again.
I tried pebbleandpine a few months ago for the first time, Monsooned Malabar has proven to be the most delicious coffee and it's now my fabourite coffee beans 🫘 😋
