Coffee Beans & Ground FAQs
How Fresh is the coffee?
We roast all coffee beans to order in-house on our premises in Leeds and then they are despatched directly to your door. The coffee is only roasted once your order is placed.
How ethical is the coffee?
We always prioritise establishing relationships with specialised importers who uphold our ethical standards. These partners are committed to not only meeting, but exceeding, fair trade price requirements, aligning with our goal to support sustainable and ethical practices in the coffee industry.
Our importers also work closely with the farms to help them improve their farming practices as well as increase the quality of the coffee they produce, thus securing a higher price for the farmers in the market.
Which coffee beans should I use for filter?
When choosing coffee beans for filter brewing, consider your flavour preferences.
The roast profiles we use ensure proper development of the coffee, with not too much acidity.
Therefore all of our single origin coffee options cater well to both cafetiere and filter coffee methods.
Which coffee beans should I use for espresso?
Any of our single-origin coffees are suitable for espresso.
The roasting profiles we use for our single origin range of coffee beans ensure they are easy to manage in terms of machine settings and are forgiving during the espresso-making process.
If you're having trouble, please get in touch any time and we'd be happy to help out.
How are the coffee beans roasted?
Our coffee beans are always freshly roasted on our Giesen coffee roaster, which is fitted with an electrostatic exhaust filter to ensure we're kind to the environment.
Buying freshly roasted coffee beans and grinding them as needed will help you to produce the best possible coffee.
Can I customize the grind at the time of purchase?
Yes, you can have your coffee beans ground to your specifications when you place an order.
We do recommend buying your coffee in whole bean form and using your own grinder. That way the coffee is at its best when you brew and the coffee beans, when stored properly, keep fresher for a lot longer.

from 1885 reviewsHands down the freshest and nice coffee I have ever had delivered
What else is there to say? Flavour as described and yes,
Damn Good!
First tried this coffee at a relatives house. We have been buying it ever since. Great taste and excellent service.
Delicious coffee, every different type of bean I've ordered from this company have been excellent. I won't buy my coffee from anywhere else
Many other roasters only use Sumatra in blends. But I really enjoy it and have appreciated it very much so far. Will definitely buy this again. Not tried the other three coffees yet
All the coffee beans we have used have been very tasty - they all have distinguishing flavours which linger in the mouth.
This is our second order and we are more then happy with quality and service. San Ignacio coffee is exactly as described and pleasure to drink. Smooth but strong, no bitterness and perfect start to our day.We love it.
No matter how many other coffees we try we always miss and come back to this one. We do let it brew in our insulated French press for almost 20 minutes but are rewarded with great depth and incredibly smooth coffee.
Lovely smooth coffee, really like this
Excellent brew providing a mellow refreshing cup . Now one of my favourites!
You won’t find anything nearly as good at your local supermarket. Good delivery service too.
After reading reviews, I chose Pebble and Pine to supply coffee beans for a gift for my son.
Ordering was extremely easy and delivery was prompt. I was kept informed at all stages. My son was very pleased with the gift, so no doubt Pebble and Pine will have gained another customer. Well done and thank you
This is my absolute favourite out of all the ones I've tried. The smell of the beans makes my mouth water, that's before they've been ground! This is a smooth, velvety rich, deep flavour. It tastes exactly as it smells! ❤️
One of the nicest coffees I’ve had in a long time.
A straight forward good coffee. A slight aftertaste of nuts etc. For me a good mid morning light coffee. Roasted to perfection as always.
